Recent events, including encouragement and minor threats from my friends (>_>); have lead me to starting my own Anime Music podcast :3
Worry not, I am not advertising here, I simply want to know what kind of software I could use to record and edit a podcast. Are there any free ones out there to download? Not advertising pirating here...but if you have a link for some free software I would be grateful! ^^
If not, what is the cheapest one you know of? What is the best? Where may I purchase it? These and many more will be answered in the next, "LOST IN SPACE"...lol...Seriously though >>;

Audacity is the best software on the net! It's also free! Wooo! It has all the bells and whistles other software does, definetly try it. If you have a MAC, use garage band, or something. I'm a Pc guy.

LordJecks is indeed correct. And if you'll look in my handy About the Show page, you will even find this in the barebones states section: Editing Program Used: iMovie HD (gasp!)Yup. Not GarageBand. Not even Audacity. It's freakin' iMovie. ...Fwee. Reason being that the interface is really, really simple, and I don't need a whole bunch of fancy audio tools and options to make a podcast like mine. iMovie also exports the sound to a great quality WAV file, which I can then convert with iTunes to MP3, for lower file size. I tried out GarageBand, and that confused me because it's obviously meant for music making, not podcast making. Audacity was okay, but I liked working with iMovie better, so there you go. If anyone wants, I can maybe post a screenshot-filled behind-the-scenes look at how I create the podcast sometime.

I don't know much about Audacity myself, but hopefully the help section on the Audacity website (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/) or the Audacity Wiki (http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page) can help you out.

Again, thank you very much! Sorry, this is the first time I have looked into this kind of software, so I'm a little uneducated in the manner ^^;

No problem. Good luck with your podcasting venture, and be sure to let us know where to find it when you have it up on the ol' inter-tubes.

LOL Alright ^^; Well I have it going and I'm getting the hang of it but I have to wait until everyone is out of the house, because I feel wierd when my parents are in the room next to me xD
Also, did you freak out when you first heard your voice recorded? .Oo. I never knew my voice was that deep, I sound twice my age >>;

It always sounds weird to here you own voice other than from your own mouth . I find it eerie to watch/listen to myself. I guess its due to the body being atuned to hearing itself internally and externally at the same time? But by all means let us know when you put out an episode and i'll tune it ASAP

Yea, It takes some getting used to it, but Audacity is awesome. Also you will have to download the LAME encoder to export in MP3, so do that if you want to export it in that format. lol, I was suprised when I heard my own voice too. I dunno how to describe it. Then again, I was a High School Freshie when I started podcasting, so my voice is probably diffrent now.
