I can't really say much more than I said in the announcement given in the newly posted episode 32, but yes, it's true: AU is coming to an end. This doesn't mean that Iggy and I will stop podcasting, however. No siree, Bob! The main reason behind the ending of AU is the fact that I want to get bigger as a podcaster, and I'm frankly not comfortable doing that with a show that uses this much licensed music. Even though the chances of getting in actual trouble are slim, I would rather the chances be 0%. So what do I do to achieve what I want? Why start a new podcast, of course! I can't explain many details of the new show yet, but I can tell you the following: - It will feature both me and Iggy as the regular hosts.
- The focus will be "pan-geek," so to speak, covering anime, manga, American comics, video games, geeky television/movies, and whatever else we want to talk about.
- The show will feature two songs from OverClocked ReMix as the opening and closing themes.
- A goal of mine will be to snag some bigger-name guests, now that I feel comfortable doing so. How much bigger, I don't know, but we'll try to get the best we can!
- Reviews will be a large part of the new format, as well as just the usual banter between myself and Iggy.
- I may or may not put out a test episode of the new show in the Anime Utahime feed to preview it for the purposes of constructive criticism before the real show begins.
Please feel free to comment on this thread and tell me what you think!

Just thought I'd pop in for a quick sec and give my five cents...
Another reason for closing the podcast is that Canada is now adopting a copyright system similar to the United States, only it may supposedly be even harsher. All of the new laws are supposed to be implemented spring of this year, but they're getting so much pushback from the public that it will likely be around summer or autumn before anything happens. None the less, copyright is getting stricter every year, so Ten and I figured it best that we do something a little more... y'know, legal. With legal music.
Not only that, but anime/manga, while an awesome topic and fandom, is also really restrictive. You might notice that I can rarely ever stay on topic. I do like anime and manga, but not as much as I used to -- I'm way more of a general geek, and I feel that I can contribute a lot more if the rules are loose.
It's unlikely that RIAA or anyone would have found us, but given the amount of music that's been used on this podcast, the very idea of being found period makes me incredibly nervous. The fines would be through the roof, nevermind the possibility of prison.
I love you guys, but I don't love you that much. : D <3

Oh mans, I wanted to do an intro to the new ani uta. I had some tasty guitar in mind. Copyrights still apply to OCremixes, unless you ask for permission, which is a rare grant because of the many emails DJ pretzel gets.

I already asked the permission of the remixer, and he granted it.

Actually, I have a new Vanilla forum built for the new show already! But I'm not opening access to it until the show goes live.

lol, so far Iggy's the only other mod I have planned. I don't think we'll need much moderation unless the forum gets crazy popular. XD Hm, we'll see what happens, as far as music goes.

Technically I am a mod, because modding is included in my admin-ly duties. So yes, I am the "other mod."

Nope. A mod is someone who is appointed by the ADMIN who rules the forum. *cough you cough*
