Personally i find (from random things that I've done offline) its useful to have a skeleton script that you loosely follow, but one which allows for you to easily ad-lib. Its really hard to write down the funny and keep it funny, and much easier to create it spontaneously. This is purely my personnel opinion though, obliviously it varies from person to person. So use trial and error to see what works best for you I'd agree with you though that they have semblance of a script.

Yes, the script is obvious in some parts, but it keeps the show organized and helps along with the flow of things.

Hey guys, this is Miles from Otaku Kakumei. Its so cool that you guys love our podcast. To see it talked about all over like this is amazing.
We very rarely have any script at all. A common phrase right before we start recording is as follow:
Freya: You ready? Miles: No. *clicks record*
So we do a lot of ad-libbing but we also get ideas of what to say and plan stuff out to some extent.
As for Bon Voyage, I am SOOO sorry about that. On very rare occasions, Garage Band doesnt like the drag and drop method so we have to play the song on the computer and record it with the built in mic. VERY RARELY!! I'm pretty sure that will never happen again.
You can also request songs to hear in the podcasts. We usually get them in the next episode or maybe the one after and we really do listen to the requests.
Freya and I have known each other since 6th grade (we are now in college) so we do get along quite well.
Thank you so much for your great reviews.
-Miles from O.K.

Whee, so glad you found your way to this thread! You really have no idea how jazzed I was to find another anime music podcast, and that it was an awesome one. If it helps, I didn't notice the bad quality on "Bon Voyage" the first time, but I was listening to the episode on my laptop speakers, which are mildly crappy. Ah, I was wondering how much was planned and how much was improvved. Cool that you guys can come up with that much on the spot! My ability to come up with material for my cast on the spot heavily varies, so I'm just sticking with a script mostly now because it's what works for me. ^^;; Hm, I wonder if I should feel threatened that you might take fans away from me? XD *j/k*

Worry not, I have become a faithful AU convert xD
On a totally unrelated topic, "Children of the Corn" seems to come to mind... o.o

In response to Tenchi Kaze, almost everything is ad-libbed. When we use sound clips and such, we kind of plan out what is going to happen but thats really the only time we do that.
LordJecks, we release episodes about every two weeks. We will have another episode up this weekend hopefully.

I forgot to tell you how much I loved the bits in episodes 6 and 7 with channel 5 news/the Kraken/Jack Sparrow and whatnot. You and Freya sure do have a sense of adventure. XD

Ho shit, have any of you listened to their new episode 9-A yet? I was doing the first episode of the new season of Dai-cast yesterday, and before recording Beej told me that while he was doing a 404s improv show at SakuraCon, he pulled up two lovely people out of the audience to help him do the Sound Effects game. One because he was cosplaying as Buddy Christ, the other because she had a really nice pair of... assets. And of course, who do these two turn out to be? Yup. Freya and Miles. Small world, eh? XD Anyway, after the improv, Freya and Miles decided to interview the 404s. It's awesome, best part of the podcast. "I too like f***ing women!" XD In return, Beej will be pimping Otaku Kakumei on Dai-cast. Let's hope I can get my episode of AU out first so that he doesn't steal my shoutout thunder! *crosses fingers*
