This is more directed to Tenshi Kaze than anyone. Since from the podcasting software thread it was evident only a couple of people on here use macs, and I know for certain Tenshi does AMV making. What software do you use? For making and getting source material?

For source material, I always use DVD footage, and the program I use to rip is a great bit of freeware called Mac the Ripper. For making clips I can work with out of the raw footage, I use MPEG Streamclip. For the actual editing, I use iMovie because I'm el cheapo like that. XD;; After editing is completed in iMovie, I export at full quality and use another program called ffmpegX to convert the file to whatever video and audio formats I need.
Note that I have only made short 30-seconds-or-less AMVs as entries for AMV Hell projects, so I don't know if the above process will work well with a normal-sized AMV project or not. iMovie tends to slow down when there's a lot of material to keep track of in one project, so I don't know at what point the program would basically become unusable.

*nods* cool. Yeah I use Mac the ripper as well. I'll have to check out MPEG Streamclip, I haven't heard of that one myself. I've tried using ffmpegX but it doesn't seem to like working for me. Maybe thats just the version I downloaded. I used it when I worked off of a pc for a while and it worked wonderfully then. As for my own editing. Yeah I can understand using iMovie, afterall it does come with the computer. I've been spoiled by my video editing classes in high school though. We used Final Cut Pro. And there's practically no limit to what you can do with that, especially if you have Adobe Afteraffects too. Although I never could figure out how to use that Adobe program very well. I do quite a bit of editing and video stuff so I went out and bought Final Cut Express. It's the cheaper version of Final Cut Pro. It doesn't come with nearly the amount of stuff including being able to convert to whatever you want afterwards. I used to just go back to the high school I went to and since the files still compatible convert using the Pro version. I can't do that now since I moved so I've been looking into converting other things.
I need to experiment with the actual filming aspect a bit more. I try and film the 404's performances whenever I'm at a con and I'm so behind on the Bellerose con's stuff.
We likely go to a lot of the same conventions. If you ever want help filming something like a video podcast let me know. I've got a couple of cameras and probably anything else you might need for it.
